Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree (PHD Preferred) in Education, Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related-area, with a focus in adult learning, curriculum, teaching, or cognitive psychology along with 7 years of experience, including substantial teaching experience in post-secondary education and experience designing, delivering and refining educational programs, services and resources for both adult learners and faculty learners(or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience).
- Deep understanding of pedagogical literature and approaches, learning management systems and educational technologies, instructional strategies, outcomes based curricula and emerging trends in higher education and educator needs through a lens of inclusive and accessible pedagogy across the disciplines.
- Extensive experience consulting faculty, staff, and academic administrators.

Sheridan Production House provides premier work-integrated learning opportunities for Sheridan media students who produce media content and live-event broadcasting for members of the Sheridan internal community. The live-event specialist technologist coordinates event coverage with the SPH Manager and internal clients and provides technical/production support and planning primarily for live, multi-camera event broadcasts. Key functions include technical and operational leadership in pre-production planning, live event capture/broadcast execution, as well as supervising post-production deliverables. SPH technologists guide and mentor student employees from a wide range of Sheridan programs who are hired based on the technical/production requirements for SPH projects. The technologist must work collaboratively with fellow staff, talent, client and student employees. The role requires championing a culture oriented toward work-integrated learning for students. The SPH Technologist models and upholds a high professional industry standard for etiquette, professionalism and health and safety on set. This technologist also works collaboratively with others to serve Sheridan Film and Media academic programs to ensure a seamless and supporting experience for SPH students. The role occasionally supports day-to-day operations outside of SPH as assigned, and requires flexibility for scheduling and availability. The role will require the occasional shift change depending upon the live event schedule for College events.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Providing both technical and production expertise and support for live multi-camera events or on-set film production in order to meet the unit’s goals of efficiency, quality assurance, health and safety and professional practice standards;
- Planning and executing with internal clients & SPH manager to meet technical requirements for live broadcast capture/recording of events for archive playback and/or video streaming for conferences or other special events, which may include evenings and weekends;
- Guidng and mentoring student workers on set, modeling and upholding professional industry standards for etiquette, professionalism and health and safety.
- Evaluating location/site and equipment/resource needs and booking necessary equipment and facilities as required;
- Sourcing and arranging for acquisition of supplies and keeping production records as assigned;

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following:

- Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies for content production for multi-delivery platforms and experience in an educational environment is required.

The Conference & Theatre Technician will provide technical support in the Conference Centre, Macdonald-Heaslip Hall, and at other campus locations. The successful candidate will have a leadership role in the theatre and will be responsible for setting up, executing, and striking theatre productions with sound, basic lighting, and other technical elements. The candidate will also support Conference Services with the completion of room setups and teardowns at all campuses.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Meet with clients to discussing audio/visual requirements in advance of shows
- Set up for events at all campus locations (including data projector, screen, TV, podium, microphones, lighting, seating and table arrangements)
- Test, maintain and keep inventory of all technical equipment and report any issues to AV Technologist
- Safeguard use of the theatre for both internal and external clients

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- First point of contact at specified campus to oversee day to day activities of security services
- Assesses and responds to various emergency or crisis situations to ensure de-escalation or resolution
- Liaises with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources and directs first responders to emergency investigations’
- Oversees and performs ongoing College incident investigations. Conducts interviews, collects relevant and accurate information in accordance with College policy and legal guidelines

Qualifications:
The Successful Candidate will have a 3 years’ college diploma or University degree in Security studies, investigations, law enforcement, criminal justice, sociology or a related field. Along with 3 years of previous job related experience. The following certifications are desired or preferred: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Officer (CPO), Security Supervision and Management (CSSM), or Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA). The candidate should have previous training in Non-violent crisis intervention. Experience as a security operative including incident investigations and critical decision-making in emergency situations. Familiar with security systems including video surveillance, intrusion, and distress systems. Knowledge of safety and security industry standards and practices, and; emergency management principles, fire prevention and life safety codes. Reporting to the Director, Human Rights and Equity Initiatives, the incumbent is the first-point of contact for the Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEI) for the Sheridan community. The incumbent identifies the nature of queries, complaints or issues, conducts all processes related to the first level of assessment, and assists with appropriate referral/direction to other resources within Sheridan. The incumbent also provides administrative support to the Director, the Senior Advisor, Equity, Diversity and Inclusive Communities and other team members in CEI.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Receives inquiries, complaints and concerns from the Sheridan community (e.g. employees, students, campus visitors) related to issues such as human rights, discrimination, harassment, accommodation and, accessibility
- Identifies rights and responsibilities and provides information and clarification regarding the role of CEI
- Initiates/schedules in person intake meetings and gathers information to support decisions around escalation or triage of matters
- Directs or refers appropriately within CEI (e.g. for investigations or early resolutions)

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Providing the Associate Director with an enrolment plan based on annual planning review, space resources, enrolment trends, and student feedback
- Scheduling courses in PeopleSoft, ensuring that delivery mode, campus, teacher assignments, and fees are accurately entered based on enrolment plan approved by the Manager
- Assisting the Associate Director in preparing documentation for new programs, program changes or retirement of non-performing programs
- Assisting the Associate Director and/or the Student Engagement and Events Specialist with planning and co-ordination of special events such as Information Sessions, CAPS open house events and/or focus groups.
- Collecting and analyzing data on local demographics, to advise the Associate Director which courses to offer, and in which modality
- Responding to student/potential student questions and requests that cannot be answered by the Call Centre, Advisement Centre or Registration Staff. The incumbent, as an information specialist, plays an important role in providing timely and accurate information, helping to increase student registration and customer loyalty
- Receiving and tracking Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) requests ensuring that the application is forwarded to the appropriate instructor and that grades are submitted
- Working closely with Program Coordinators to verify that program information is accurate and that any changes are communicated appropriately to instructors and students
- Advising on Sheridan policies and procedures and provides advice on resources available to instructors, i.e. Student Affairs, CTL, Library and Learning Services
- Operating as part of a team, covering responsibilities for other program areas, ensuring that the Department’s work is organized in such a manner that allows other members to provide back-up during absences or peak times
- Performing other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a 3-year diploma or degree, preferably in Business, Office Administration, or a related field, along with 3 years of work experience in an office or administrative setting (or an equivalent combination or relevant education and experience). Experience working in an office and performing administrative duties using Microsoft Office products, efficiency in Word and Excel and working with data, where attention to detail is required. The incumbent will have strong customer service skills and ability to deal with complex student issues. Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health & Safety Services, the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Coordinator supports the OHS team by responding to inquiries from the Sheridan community, investigating and finding solutions to reduce hazards at the workplace, overseeing and delivering various health and safety programs, and acting as a resource to the Joint Health and Safety Committee. The incumbent provides direct client support on health and safety matters and builds relationships with the Sheridan community as a subject matter expert on resolving OHS issues.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Acts as the first point of contact for OHS-related inquiries or issues for the Sheridan community;
- Provides appropriate information, advice, guidance and resources to clients and/or prioritizes, redirects or escalates queries as appropriate;
- Provides advice and guidance to clients by conducting an investigation and analysis of the reported hazard and recommending appropriate control measures. Catalogues such activities to supplement the hazard identification, assessment and control initiatives;
- Follows up on all incident reports (or redirects the reports to the Specialist or Manager as appropriate) to identify root causes and to ensure appropriate prevention plans are developed to prevent reoccurrence;
- Liaises with Workplace Abilities (WA) during injury/ incident follow-up activities, such as providing the completed Incident Investigation Report to WA, responding to WA’s inquiries about the incident, and relaying other relevant information gathered during the follow-up activities to WA;
- Utilizes the Case Management software to catalogue hazards, compile data, statistics, and other information which may be used for high level planning (e.g. developing milestones/goals for the OHS team) and for various reporting purposes (e.g. annual HR report, monthly reports for JHSCs, etc.) as required;
- Coordinates/administers various OHS programs (e.g. Sheridan’s WHMIS Program, Hazardous Waste Program, Ergonomics Program, First Aid Program, etc.);
- Develops OHS resource materials and other creative learning tools to raise awareness of and educate the Sheridan community about health and safety;
- Assists in enforcing Sheridan OHS policies and procedures, typically in an advisory capacity.
- Conducts inspections, assessments, investigations and audits to ensure compliance with existing OHS Programs under the direction of the Manager;
- Attends JHSC meetings to provide support, guidance, and act as a resource;

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a 3 year diploma/degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, along with at least 3 years of directly related experience in the field of OHS, including administering safety programs and policies and conducting simple accident/incident investigations (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). Athletics
Peer Mentors in the Athletics department share the responsibility of the daily operations and on-site promotions of varsity and athletic programs. This includes organizing and aiding in the operation of Campus Recreation and Varsity tournaments and Sheridan intramural and extramural league sports.

Peer Mentors promote Career Education services and special events to the students within a specific academic school. Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support
Peer Mentors work in collaboration with our Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support Staff by: welcoming First Nations, Metis and Inuit students to the Sheridan Community. Learn more about Indigenous culture and history. Participating in Orientation, Red Dress Campaign, and numerous other events. Support FNMI to access Sheridan services that will support their success. Provide access to materials and information and positively promote our Indigenous Centre.
Health and Wellness
Health and Wellness Peer Mentors help to promote Health, Counseling, and Wellness resources to students across campus, in part by participating in the delivery of outreach activities and events for students. They encourage timely and effective use of all Student Affairs resources for academic, personal, and social development leading to student success. They build community by fostering inclusive interactions and educational collaborations across programs and services.
International Services
The International Centre Peer Mentor will assist international students with their transition to a new country, society, institution and educational system, and provide international students (especially first year) with the opportunity to meet other students within Sheridan. The International Centre Mentor will also increase his or her own cultural awareness and develop/enhance his or her leadership, organizational, teamwork and inter-cultural communication skills.
Library and Learning Services

Your Role:
Sheridan is at an exciting time in its history as it moves to implement its new academic plan within which First Year Student Transition, Academic Advising, Student Well-being and Meaningful Engagement are key components. The Associate Dean, Student Success Programs, is skilled in collaborative and inspirational leadership, will be responsible for leading the development of an integrated strategic framework and for the ongoing development, implementation and assessment of programs and change initiatives within the Student Development portfolio. Portfolio areas include: First Year Student Transition, Student Advisement, Accessible Learning, Student Wellness & Counselling Services and the Student Health Centres. The Associate Dean leads change and collaborates with the Student Affairs Leadership Team in areas of Departmental strategic planning, cross-departmental programming, assessment, quality assurance and development of resources. He/she provides leadership, consultation and advice to his/her team and works closely with Academic Faculties and other stakeholders across Sheridan to create institutional strategies, help integrate efforts and align programming in support of the portfolio priorities and in support of Sheridan’s SEM Plan. The Associate Dean is responsible to lead the development of an institutional Academic Advising Model, an institutional First Year Transition Strategy, an institutional Student Mental Health Framework and continue to advance the Academic Accommodations process, influencing and supporting a proactive approach to universal design.
The incumbent develops and manages internal and external partnerships related to the portfolio, The Associate Dean performs assessments, synthesizes research/data to inform decision making and planning, establishes metrics, provides leadership in quality assurance and evidence based practice, and sources alternative forms of funding (i.e. grants, research studies) to sustain future plans.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Actively participates and provides leadership to the realization of Student Affairs strategic priorities – meeting strategic and operational commitments; develops more efficient, impactful delivery models and optimizes Sheridan’s Student Experience;
- Has strategic and management accountabilities for portfolio areas; provides leadership in the visioning, ongoing development, delivery, review/modification of portfolio programs/services to ensure quality, interconnected efforts with Faculties and other departments, and reflection of emerging needs, technology, demographic influences etc.;
- Fosters an effective, collaborative and participative environment for students, staff, faculty and administrators in an effort to maximize engagement, leadership and development; is accountable for engaging the academic community and external partners, as applies to the portfolio;
- Provides leadership in creating and sustaining an organizational culture that enhances student retention and success; leads and guides managers and their unit staff - developing medium and long range goals and plans to ensure organizational objectives are met;
- Overseeing the management of financial and physical resources;
- Develops collaborative working relationships with Faculties, other support services departments. Leads college wide collaborative teams in the effective design and delivery of tailored to portfolio programs/initiatives, research studies and in the development of innovative models;
- Establishes strategic, external partnerships to support and enhance portfolio areas.
About You:
- Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences or Business along with 7 years successful and progressive leadership experience in post-secondary education or social services environment– including strategic planning/direction and operational management of budget and staff
- A sound understanding of the challenges, emerging trends and issues affecting student learning and development, student persistence and barriers to learning, engagement, leadership, accessibility, and student health and wellness
- Familiarity with concepts of whole campus learning and community engagement practices and universal instructional design
- Change leadership skills – to lead and manage change in a post-secondary environment as well as experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders

Sheridan faculty provide academic leadership to programs and courses within their areas of expertise and contribute to the creation of a learning-centred environment where students can develop to their full potential. They also contribute to College, Faculty, and program excellence by collaborating on a variety of initiatives such as new program development, applied research and alternative delivery strategies.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering course curriculum in classroom and/or online, which includes ensuring student awareness of course objectives, approach and evaluation techniques
- Tutoring and academic counselling of students, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses
- Defining, evaluating and validating learning outcomes and designing appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning
- Developing individualized instruction and multi-media presentations and incorporating technology into the learning process where applicable
- Attending periodic faculty meetings
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education/Disability Studies or related field of study is required;
- Minimum of 3 years related Educational Support professional experience;
- Practical experience supporting students with a range of exceptionalities in the classroom, including: students with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, physical exceptionalities, speech and language disorders, and those who exhibit challenging behaviour in the classroom;
- Experience using educational and/or assistive technology;
- Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level preferred;
- Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students;
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills along with a commitment to working in a team environment;
- Strong network of Educational Support professional contacts with other professionals, agencies and employers.
