    Hourly Range: $34.16/hour
    Hours/Week: Up to 24 hours

    Application Details: This is a temporary part-time position that may continue until April 18, 2019 and may be extend to subsequent semesters as needed.


    Reporting to the Manager of Applied Health Labs the incumbent will support faculty and students in the Nursing/PSW skills lab.


    Specific Responsibilities Include:


    • Supporting and assisting lab instructors and students in assigned lab classes
    • Supporting and assisting students during open practice times
    • Role-modeling professional behavior
    • Supporting and assisting with simulations including both set up and take down of equipment
    • Ensuring students are signing in and out of lab
    • Maintaining lab equipment which includes reporting any broken or damaged equipment
    • Preparing labs with all necessary equipment and materials for lab classes
    • Ensuring the lab is clean, safe and organized
    • Promoting and conducting safe lab practices
    • Assisting with practical lab exams including evaluation
    • Attending lab meetings when scheduled
    • Performing other related duties as assigned




    • A Community College Diploma or a University Degree (preferred) in Nursing.
    • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse or a Registered Practical Nurse without restrictions
    • A minimum of 3 years directly related nursing experience (Medical/Surgical or LTC)
    • Demonstrated excellence in nursing practices and a proven commitment to on-going professional development is required
    • Current CPR and First Aid certification
    • Computer literate
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment
