Reporting to the Manager of Records and Registration, the incumbent provides first point of contact for students with regard to their financial account and student record status with the College. The incumbent accurately processes a range of transactions including course registration and all associated payments for all student types (postsecondary, continuing education, skills development and apprenticeship). The Associate provides information, answers queries and investigates/resolves problems with student records and supports students in managing their account status using web-enabled services. The Associate is responsible for fee payments, provides direct support to students, faculty and staff on various complex registration/financial matters and liaises on the students’ behalf with other departments. The incumbent also provides problem analysis and solution determination on financial aspects of student records to meet current and future registration needs.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
The successful candidate will have a 3 year diploma/degree in the Public Relations, Business Administration or related field along with a minimum of 3 years of practical work experience in a position that processes specialized information, providing immediate guidance and resolution to problems presented by client in an educational environment (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). Proficiency in operating a computer and related software packages and a thorough working knowledge of the Student Information System (SIS) is required. Thorough understanding of all program offerings, Ministry and College guidelines, policies and procedures is preferred. The successful candidate must possess excellent customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy and judgment. Excellent communication skills are essential in order to ensure the diverse student population is well served. Proven problem-determination and resolution skills and the ability to work well independently in a team-based environment are essential.
