Hours: Health Services operates from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Counselling and Health Services, the incumbent will provide nursing services to students alternating between Trafalgar, Brampton and Mississauga Campuses. Nurses are members of the larger Student Affairs team and play a role in supporting student academic and personal success, specifically in the areas of illness prevention, health promotion and health education.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
The successful candidate must possess a community college diploma or a university degree (preferred) in Registered Nursing and be a certified Registered Nurse with a current Ontario Certificate of Competence. The incumbent must possess a minimum of 3 years directly related nursing experience (must be skilled in areas of physical assessment, triaging, treatment procedures, venipuncture, laboratory work, health teaching/counselling and preventative health care). Demonstrated excellence in nursing practices and a proven commitment to on-going professional development is required. In addition, the successful candidate will possess current CPR and First Aid certification, computer literacy, and must be able to work independently within a team environment. Emergency room experience is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to make independent nursing decisions, and highly developed nursing judgement skills are essential for success in this position. Other requirements include organizational skills, sensitivity to student issues and multi-cultural issues (to work with diverse population) and a sound understanding and awareness of current trends in health care issues.
