    Reporting to the Director, Ancillary Services, the incumbent is responsible for strategic development and operational implementation of current and future phases of the OneCard program at all campuses.  This includes developing a long term strategy for expansion, marketing and maintenance of the OneCard system and program, as well as the introduction of innovations to ensure the program matches the needs of cardholders. The incumbent has responsibility for daily operational leadership of the team and management of vendors, budget and marketing and communication activities.  The OneCard allows students and staff to access services and make purchases via a pre-loaded declining balance.  The OneCard also acts as an access key for various College locations.  The scope of services and commerce also expands to organizations and businesses outside of the College, including transit, restaurants and other retail.

     

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Managing OneCard program services and systems, including marketing, budgeting, vendor management and operational administration;
    • Managing and collaborating with OneCard vendors (software, hardware, supplies) and retail partners, to ensure Sheridan technology and practices meet the current needs of card holders;
    • Working with College departments and service partners to ensure a quality process and system (IT, Student Services, Finance & Accounting, Ancillary Services, Alumni, Security & Parking, HR Staff Services and card holders);
    • Exploring and expanding services and market segments to increase program usage and revenue; Taking an entrepreneurial/visionary approach to development and expansion;
    • Developing operational policies & procedures to ensure growth and improvement of department by continuously reviewing and implementing technological advancements that improve the operation & service delivery;
    • Developing marketing, sales and communication plans and activities (in collaboration with Marketing & Communications) to keep current and potential card holders engaged to use and promote the Card;
    • Bringing input from various sources (e.g. Student Services, Athletics, etc.) to understand internal needs and opportunities; Forming a Sheridan OneCard Stakeholder Group – whose mandate is to guide introduction of new features and functionality and to ensure all stakeholders’ needs are being met;
    • Responsible for financial accuracy, statistical reporting and financial auditing/loss prevention controls and processes;
    • Responsible for overseeing all revenue activity related to the OneCard, and ensuring accurate financial monthly reporting and reconciliation to each of the correct business units within the College;
    • Providing leadership and direct supervision to direct reports, including recruiting, selection, training, mentoring/coaching, goal-setting/workflow management, and ongoing performance management and evaluation;
    • Fostering a safe, respectful, supportive and participative work environment; Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures in the areas of: health & safety, human rights, equity, diversity, accessibility as well as complying with Collective Agreements and Administrative Terms & Conditions of Employment;
    • Ensuring effective/efficient allocation of fiscal/physical resources; Monitoring and analyzing financial performance;
    • Approving expenditures; working closely with Ancillary team to prepare budgets and business plans;
    • Performing other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

     

    The successful candidate will possess a 3-year diploma/degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in marketing and sales (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). Entrepreneurial experience leading new initiatives with various stakeholders, experience in an operational leadership role, and financial accounting and analysis experience is required. Retail point of sale knowledge is necessary. Direct experience in a post-secondary setting (working with senior leaders, staff and students) and project leadership experience will be considered an asset. The candidate must have well developed communication skills as well as effective interpersonal and relationship building skills. The candidate will be creative, show initiative and be results oriented. The candidate must be able to efficiently handle a demanding workload, have advanced experience with MS Office and relational databases, and be able to attend activities at multiple campuses. The incumbent is required to work flexible hours during the semester start-up.
