Reporting to the Associate Dean, Career Education & Co-curricular learning, the incumbent will work closely with the Cooperative Education team. The incumbent will be responsible for working with cross-disciplinary staff teams in the development, enhancement and implementation of Cooperative Education curriculum including Co-op/Internship Preparatory courses and Work Term courses.

 

The incumbent will provide support to program teams in the review and renewal of current Cooperative Education curriculum and provide expertise in the writing of Cooperative Education course learning outcomes and student assessment strategies consistent with these principles.  The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple projects. 

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Supporting teams of Co-op subject matter experts in the development of course learning outcomes, within the context of The Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development  (MAESD) and Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB) guidelines, college policy and practice, college strategic direction and strong pedagogy;
  • Collaborating with the Co-op team on curriculum and course design as required (on an individual and group basis);
  • Providing consultation to the Co-op team on the development of teaching & learning activities including alternative delivery strategies and the use of educational technology to support learning;
  • Supporting Co-op in the development of appropriate tools to evaluate student learning;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • The successful candidate will have a 3-year degree/diploma in Business, Education, Computer Science, Social Science or a related field. The successful candidate will also have 5 years of relevant experience in training/facilitation and/or delivering classroom content at a post-secondary standard of facilitation and instruction
  • An understanding of the provisions, practices and trends of CAFCE, EWO and CACEE that relate to Cooperative Education are required, as is an in-depth understanding of career development and learning/adult learning theories.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the literature related to learning outcomes and assessment, particularly in the domain of work-integrated learning is required.
  • Strong computer skills are required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
  • Exemplary organizational, time management and communication skills are required.
  • Experience in curriculum design & development including establishing learning outcomes and determining assessment strategies.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse learners and unique program needs;
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, writing skills, problem-solving and managing multiple projects.
