If you are interested in part-time teaching opportunities in the Faculty of Applied Health & Community Studies (FAHCS), please submit an online application. The Human Resources department maintains a Faculty Pool of resumes for job seekers interested in obtaining part-time teaching opportunities at the College. If a vacancy arises, you may be contacted by the Faculty directly.


In order to be considered into the pool and properly match your skills with any potential vacancies, you must indicate the program titles/codes you are qualified to teach in your cover letter. To begin:

  4. Please indicate the program titles/codes you are interested to teach in your cover letter.




Note: The Faculty of Applied Health & Community Studies may hire part-time faculty for various program areas. Therefore, a list of program titles/codes you are interested to teach is required to accurately match your skills with any potential vacancies.




Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles. 




Specific accountabilities include:


  • Delivering course curriculum in classroom and/or online;
  • Designing, revising, and updating of course material in consultation with the program coordinator, other faculty members, advisory committees, and potential employers and students;
  • Defining, evaluating and validating learning outcomes;
  • Designing appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning;
  • Developing individualized instruction and multi-media presentations and incorporating technology into the learning process where applicable.






  • Master’s degree in a related field of study is required;
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level, or equivalent experience as a trainer in business or industry preferred;
  • Strong network of contacts with other professionals, organizations and employers;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students;
  • Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and working within a team environment.
